We are pleased to announce the placement of Eric Hagen with DLA Piper. Mr. Hagen was a partner with McDermott Will & Emery where he served as leader of the Firm’s Trade Secrets Practice.
Mr. Hagen is an experienced litigator and advisor to Fortune 500 clients and emerging growth companies in complex commercial cases involving patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition claims and related matters. He has successfully represented clients in the life sciences, smartphone, disk drive, semiconductor, advertising, financial services, apparel, sports and entertainment industries. He also manages the intellectual property (IP) portfolios of several start-up companies, and he serves on the board of Advisors for JibJab Media, Inc.
Mr. Hagen has been repeatedly recognized by The Legal 500 United States as a leading lawyer in the fields of patent litigation and trade secret litigation in the United States. The Legal 500 describes him as “a creative thinker” who “practices with the utmost integrity” and as a “partner with a proven track record in trade secrets.” He has represented Radware, Amgen, Ambry Genetics, Seagate Technologies, Blackberry and HTC, among many others.
Eric is an adjunct professor at Loyola Law School where he teaches patent litigation. He also has written and lectured extensively on a variety of intellectual property issues.
